All Citizens of the People’s Republic of China holding a 10-year B1 or B2 visa are required to apply for the Electronic Visa Update System (EVUS) before traveling to the United States. The EVUS is a mandatory online process. Applicants must submit their online EVUS application at least seventy-two (72) hours before departing for the United States.

EVUS was enacted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection in November 2016. EVUS authorizes citizens of the People’s Republic of China that hold 10-year B1 or B2 visas and have a valid passport to enter the United States of America for for temporary business or tourism. Once granted, the EVUS is generally valid for multiple trips over a period of two years.

Why do I need to apply for an EVUS if I already have a Visa?

Enrolling with EVUS is a requirement under U.S. Immigration law for all citizens of China who hold a valid Chinese passport with a full term 10-year U.S. visitor Visa, class B1, B2 or B1/B2.
